[HOW TO] - Get around the application space limit of your Touch!

First the ipod has 2 partitions, one of 14.5gb and one of 300mb and. And in the 8gb you have a 300mb partition aswell.

ATTENTION- YOU SHOULD HAVE BSD SUBSYSTEM INSTALLED

First add the boss tool to the list of sources. The source markmon.mine.nu:90/iphone/repo/repo.plist

Next we will go to the install part and look for the category called sources. install the application that is called Big Boss New Community… 1.0. Continue and go to the install and in the category utilities and install Boss Tool

And your probably saying “How am I going to download it if I cant download anything?” well very easy. Go to uninstall and uninstall a program that has a round the same size as the boss tool application and you will be able to install it. When you have it downloaded keep on reading.

Click where it says Free Disk Space and follow it until the bottom where it says relocate apps. This will make it so that all the applications that are in the 300mb Partition will go to the bigger partition and immidately you will be able to install much more applications until the entire 14.5 gb disk space is full

[HOW TO] - Force iPod into restore mode.

Taken from --> HERE

There are a lot of posts with people asking how to do this so I thought I would post this thread to limit the questions.

Warning: This should be used as a last resort, restoring will erase all of your data

*Must have iPod plugged into computer while doing this*

Be patient, the force restore part may take up to 20 seconds.

1. Press and hold the home button and the sleep/wake button. (the power off option will appear, ignore it)
2. When the apple logo appears let go of the sleep/wake button (keep holding the home button.)
3. After a few seconds you should see the connect to iTunes image (you can now let go of the home button.)
4. Open iTunes .
5. iTunes should automatically recognize your iPod once the image comes up, if not unplug your iPod and plug it back in.
6. Restore your iPod by clicking the "Restore" button.

****
If iTunes comes up with an error you may want to try

a. Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes or
b. restoring on a different computer.

Testing New Theme on my iPod Touch

Sunday, December 2, 2007

[HOW TO] - Install Themes

0) Install Summerboard
1) Open up SMBPrefs.
2) Tap where it says Themes.
3) Select a theme.
4) Scroll down to the bottom of the main menu in SMBPrefs and tap "Restart SpringBoard"

Installing SummerBoard themes
by http://superfluousbanter.org/

To install SummerBoard themes you can download them like an application via Installer.app, but if you have a theme of your own you can install them by SFTP.

You can download Fugu to SFTP.

Connect to your iPod Touch via SFTP, and navigate into /Library/SummerBoard/Themes where you'll see the directories of the four pre-installed themes. Once there upload your theme folder.
The path should be /Library/SummerBoard/Themes/

Now return to your iPhone’s home screen (press the “Home” button) and launch SMBPrefs, then press “Theme” and select “” (the theme we just uploaded). Press the “Home” button once more to return to your home screen and see the new theme in place.

[HOW TO] - GUIDE: 1.1.1 to Jailbreak 1.1.2

This is the BEST resource which I have successfully Jailbroken my iPod Touch to 1.1.2

--> GUIDE: 1.1.1 to Jailbroken 1.1.2

[HOW-TO] - Easy iPod touch iPhone Jailbreak Takes Less than 10 Seconds

[HOW TO] - Jailbreak to 1.1.2

A crew of hackers (including hdm/metasploit, rezn, dinopio, drudge, kroo, pumpkin, davidc, dunham, and NerveGas) have introduced a one-touch instant jailbreak for both iPhone and iPod touch. The jailbreak opens your iPhone for full disk access and installs Installer.app so you can add pretty much any third party application you like.

Please follow these steps exactly:

1. open iTunes
-plug the iPod into the computer
-hold both sleep/wake and home button until iPod restarts.
-let go of of the sleep/wake button when you see Apple logo.
-continue to hold home button until iTunes pops up with recovery mode
-click yes, and your iPod will be restored to its factory settings.

2. Now if you are restored to 1.1.1, move on to step 4

3. If not, and you are on 1.1.2 then Restore your Touch by pressing and holding the ‘Shift’ key on windows or ‘option’ key on Mac, then click ‘restore’ to select the 1.1.1 firmware file you downloaded earlier. (Find it using google or on this site)

4. Jailbreaking on iPod Touch

To use it, open Safari and point your browser to jailbreakme.com (which we aren't linking to so folks won't install this by accident, but you are prompted to confirm). Once there, read the directions, scroll to the bottom, and tap Install AppSnapp. If Safari disappears and you return to the main Home screen, you're good. Just wait a minute more for your unit to restart--don't touch anything until you see the slide to unlock screen. If Safari hangs, just quit out (press and hold Home for 4-8 seconds) and try again.

Launch Safari

Visit http://jailbreakme.com, Scroll down to the bottom, click "Install AppSnapp". Safari will exit and you'll return to your springboard. Slide to unlock, you are now jailbroken. and are able to use Installer.app.

Prepare your 1.1.1 device for the Update

Launch Installer.app

Scroll down to Tweaks (1.1.1)

Select OktoPrep

Click Install

Update to 1.1.2

1. Connect your device to your computer
