How Twitter Can Help My Research Work?

In the next two days, I would like to complete my research article and presentation slides regarding a topic on “Using Social Media to Improve Employee Engagement”. As of today (Saturday), I would like to test the theory of how Twitter can help in your research work.

I heard success stories telling people get help from just sending some questions on their Twitter and within minutes managed to get answers.

Let me try this using my Twitter Account @edoraslyn and see whether I am able to complete my work in time with the help of the Twitter friends.

[HOW-TO] - Fix iTunes Error 3194 When Restoring / Updating To Stock or Custom 4.3.3 Firmware

Just like how it was when iOS 4.3.2 was released, it seems like some iPhone users are having trouble when restoring their device to either stock, or custom iOS 4.3.3 firmware.

Turns out, if you have changed your system’s host file to point to Cydia’s SHSH caching server (possibly for downgrading purposes), you wont be able to restore/update to iOS 4.3.3. iTunes throws Error 3194:

The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3194).

This is apparently due to a bug in Cydia’s backend which should be fixed soon.

Temporarily, you can fix this by removing Cydia’s SHSH caching server from your host file. This can either done manually by removing Cydia’s IP address from your system’s host file, or by simply using TinyUmbrella, instructions for which are as follows:

Step 1: Download the latest version of TinyUmbrella for Windows or Mac.

Step 2: Switch to “Advanced” tab and uncheck “Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit” option.

Step 3:  Click on “Apply Changes”, followed by restarting your PC or Mac.

That’s it! You should now be able to successfully restore or update your iPhone to iOS 4.3.3 firmware.

Apple's Cloud Services - iCloud.com ?

screenshot_01-2011-05-1-10-19.jpg
It was reported in Gigaom that Apple has snapped up iCloud.com.
As we all knew, Apple is gearing up for their upcoming Cloud services. The iCloud.com was a domain name owned by Linkoping, a Swedish-based desktop-as-a-service company, Xcerion. And now, iCloud.com service has been rebranded as CloudMe.

UPDATE: Just received a notification from MobileMe asking to upgrade my calendar to maintain syncing and calendar web access. It seems that the old MobileMe calendar will be discontinued in 7 days.
What does it mean? Most probably Apple is going to start migrating its MobileMe to iCloud very soon, eh? What do you think?
